“Colin Thornton's deft storytelling will leave you yearning to move to a neighbourhood with its very own greasy spoon where a hot meal is served to one and all with hearty sides of dignity and belonging.”

KING NUT AND OTHER STORIES
A DELECTABLE COLLECTION FROM THE MAGICAL MIND OF COLIN THORNTON
We meet a mélange of quirky characters who inhabit a greasy café in Hot Mustard, get caught up in intrigue when a young student steals a motorcycle from the local gang in Candy Apple Baby, lose ourselves with a middle-aged woman who gets lost in a jungle garden in Crossing Over, and feel the heartache of a man stuck in an island paradise in Nowhere Fast. In these 17 stories, Thornton offers a panoply of human experiences in his inimitable style of humour, pathos, irony and magic.
“...a born storyteller.”

King Nut and Other Stories
Colin Thornton studied drawing, painting and photography in art college and played music for a few decades while he built a career in advertising in Toronto and Halifax. Today, his paints are dry, marimba locked in its case, and his advertising days are over, so he writes short stories from his home base in Shediac, New Brunswick.
