Zev Bagel
Description
“The second Bright & Breasy Mystery, based in the historic city of Canterbury.
Allan Sopworth disappears, and his assistant at work, Brenda Macklin calls on Bright & Breasy to help find him. They are led into a circuitous network of contacts and acquaintances of Allan’s mother and estranged father, although Allan himself is apparently reclusive. The search for Allan is spiced with a series of anonymous notes quoting one of Aesop’s Fables.
William Breasy becomes more intrigued when he discovers there may be a connection with an old case he had come across as a young policeman. A man, found drowned in the River Stour, may after all have not fallen in accidentally. But what does it have to do with Allan’s disappearance fifty years later? Determined to find out, Lizzy and William become drawn into a current police investigation into drug smuggling.
